Terms And Conditions
Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning provides carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings given below:
Customer means any individual, business or organisation that books or receives services from Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning.
Services means any carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, stain treatment, end of tenancy cleaning of soft furnishings, or related services provided by Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning.
Technician means any employee, contractor or representative of Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning who carries out the Services.
Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
2. Scope of Services
Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning provides professional carpet and upholstery cleaning services within its service area. The specific Services to be supplied will be agreed at the time of booking and confirmed in the booking confirmation. Any descriptions or illustrations are for general guidance only and do not form part of the contract.
We reserve the right to decline to provide Services if, in our reasonable opinion, the Premises are unsafe, access is not suitable, or the work requested is not appropriate for our methods or equipment.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be made by customers through channels we make available from time to time, such as online forms or messaging services. A booking is only deemed accepted when we have confirmed the date, time, and indicative price for the Services.
3.2 When making a booking, you must provide accurate details about the Premises, parking arrangements, property access, the type and condition of carpets or upholstery, and any stains, damage or special requirements. This information is used to estimate the time, equipment and cost of the job.
3.3 We may adjust the price or scope of Services on arrival if the information provided at the time of booking was incomplete or inaccurate, or if the condition of the items to be cleaned is materially different from what was described.
3.4 Bookings are subject to availability. We may offer alternative dates or time slots if your preferred appointment is not available.
4. Access and Customer Responsibilities
4.1 You must ensure that the Technician has safe and timely access to the Premises at the agreed appointment time, including any necessary entry codes, keys, or permission from building management where applicable.
4.2 The Customer is responsible for moving small and fragile items, valuables, and personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned prior to the Technician’s arrival, unless otherwise agreed in advance. Technicians are not obliged to move heavy furniture, electrical equipment, or large items, and may refuse to do so where there is a risk of damage or injury.
4.3 You must ensure that there is adequate electricity, lighting and water supply at the Premises. If these are not available, we may be unable to perform the Services and a cancellation or call-out charge may apply.
4.4 Children and pets must be kept away from the work areas and equipment during the cleaning process for safety reasons.
5. Pricing and Quotations
5.1 Any quotation given before an onsite inspection is an estimate based on the information you provide. Final pricing may be confirmed or adjusted after the Technician has inspected the Premises and items to be cleaned.
5.2 Prices are generally based on factors such as room size, number of items, level of soiling, accessibility, and any additional treatments requested. Any extra work requested on the day which was not included in the original quotation will be chargeable.
5.3 All prices are given in pounds sterling. Any applicable taxes will be included in the price provided, unless stated otherwise.
6. Payments and Deposits
6.1 Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. We may require full payment on completion of the Services or in advance, depending on the nature of the booking.
6.2 For certain Services, we may require a deposit to secure your appointment. The amount and conditions of any deposit will be communicated before you confirm the booking.
6.3 Payment may be made using the methods we accept from time to time, which may include bank transfer, card payment or other cashless methods. We do not accept payment by cheque unless specifically agreed in advance.
6.4 If payment is not received when due, we reserve the right to charge reasonable late payment fees and to withhold any certificates, reports or further services until payment has been made in full.
7. Cancellations, Rescheduling and No-Show Policy
7.1 You may cancel or reschedule your booking by giving us reasonable notice prior to the scheduled appointment time. The required notice period and any applicable fees will be explained at the time of booking.
7.2 If you cancel or reschedule within a short period before the appointment, we may charge a cancellation fee or retain any deposit paid, to cover allocated time and resources.
7.3 If the Technician arrives at the Premises and is unable to gain access, or if the Customer is not present where required to provide entry or instructions, this may be treated as a last-minute cancellation and a call-out or cancellation fee may be charged.
7.4 In the event that we need to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances such as staff illness, equipment failure or events beyond our control, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and offer an alternative appointment. We will not be liable for any indirect losses arising from such changes.
8. Service Delivery and Limitations
8.1 Our Technicians will carry out the Services with reasonable care and skill, using suitable cleaning methods and products for the type of fibres, fabrics and surfaces involved.
8.2 While we aim to achieve the best possible results, you acknowledge that:
Some stains, odours or wear may be permanent and cannot be fully removed.
Colour changes, fading or pile distortion may already exist and can become more visible after cleaning.
Results may vary depending on the age and condition of carpets and upholstery, previous cleaning methods used, and the nature of soiling.
8.3 Where there is any risk that a particular cleaning method could cause damage or colour loss, the Technician will discuss this with you before proceeding. If you ask us to proceed despite such warnings, you accept responsibility for any resulting damage.
9. Customer Property and Valuables
9.1 You should remove cash, jewellery, documents and other valuables from the areas to be cleaned before the Technician arrives. We do not accept responsibility for loss of valuables that have not been secured or removed.
9.2 You must inform us in advance of any items of high value, delicate construction or special material that may require particular care or specialist handling. We may refuse to clean such items if we consider there is a material risk of damage.
10. Waste Handling and Environmental Compliance
10.1 Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning complies with relevant waste and environmental regulations relating to the handling, storage and disposal of waste water, residues, and other materials generated in the course of providing the Services.
10.2 Waste water from carpet and upholstery cleaning will be disposed of in an appropriate and lawful manner, and will not be discharged in a way that breaches local environmental regulations or property rules.
10.3 If the Services generate any solid waste items that require special handling or licensed disposal, we may charge a separate reasonable fee for safe removal and disposal, which will be explained where applicable.
10.4 Customers must not request or require Technicians to dispose of waste in any unlawful or inappropriate way, including using unauthorised drains, gardens, public areas or neighbouring properties.
11. Liability and Insurance
11.1 Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning will take reasonable care when providing the Services and holds appropriate insurance cover for its activities. Details of insurance can be provided on request.
11.2 Our liability for loss or damage arising from the Services is limited to losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or our negligence. We are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or any indirect or consequential loss.
11.3 We are not responsible for:
Existing damage, defects, wear or deterioration in carpets, rugs or upholstery.
Damage resulting from faulty installation, poor condition of backing or underlay, loose seams, or inadequate fixation to the floor.
Issues caused by the age or fragility of fabrics or materials that cannot reasonably withstand normal cleaning processes.
11.4 Any claim for damage or unsatisfactory work must be reported to us as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within a reasonable period after completion of the Services. You must give us an opportunity to inspect the issue and, where appropriate, to rectify it.
11.5 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Guarantees and Complaints
12.1 We aim to provide a professional service and for Customers to be satisfied with the results. However, we do not guarantee the complete removal of all stains, odours or marks.
12.2 If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, you should contact us promptly with details of your concern and, where possible, photographs of the affected area. We may offer to revisit the Premises to inspect and, where appropriate, to attempt further treatment.
12.3 Any decision to provide additional cleaning, a partial refund or other remedy will be made on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the condition of the items, pre-existing issues and the limitations of cleaning methods.
13. Health and Safety
13.1 Our Technicians follow reasonable health and safety practices while carrying out the Services. You agree to cooperate with any reasonable health and safety instructions given by the Technician during the appointment.
13.2 Certain cleaning products may have temporary odours or require some ventilation. You should keep children, pets and vulnerable individuals away from recently treated areas until they are fully dry and any instructions given by the Technician have been followed.
14. Force Majeure
14.1 We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from events, circumstances or causes beyond our reasonable control. These may include, but are not limited to, severe weather, transport disruptions, power failures, accidents, illness, or restrictions imposed by authorities.
15. Changes to these Terms and Conditions
15.1 We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements or operational practices.
15.2 The version of the Terms and Conditions in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking, unless any change is required by law or regulatory authority, in which case it may apply to existing bookings.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
16.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any contract between Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning and the Customer, are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
16.2 Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
17. Severability
17.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision will be removed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
18.1 These Terms and Conditions, together with any written confirmation of booking or agreed quotation, constitute the entire agreement between Shoreditch Carpet Cleaning and the Customer in relation to the Services. Any other terms, conditions or representations not expressly included are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
